An interactive activity that the whole family can take part in. The kit comes with instructions and is easy to use. Combine the acid and baking soda to start the chemical reaction. The acid present in the tartaric acid reacts with the sodium hydrogen carbonate in the baking soda to produce carbon dioxide. This causes the mixture to bubble and “erupt” from the volcano as lava. The addition of the red food colouring gives it a real lava look.
